Just Moved in Your New Home?.. Unpack Intelligently

Unpacking is as tedious a job as packing. If you don't have time to unpack and your budget allows, you can hire unpacking services. If not, then also you can make unpacking a 'not-so-messy-job' just by planning a little about how to unpack in an organized way. Here are some tips for your help

Plan and Unload in the Right Manner: When unloading, make the moving company's representatives or your helpers to put the boxes in the right rooms according to the attached labels. You will not be on a run all the time to find the required boxes for each room. Also, you must plan beforehand as to where you want to place your heavy furniture items. If you got the layout plan of your new home before moving in, you can plan it easily. However, if you don't get this opportunity, just take a look for sometime by going around all the rooms in the house before starting unloading. Set your mind about placing the furniture and get them there at the first instance. You can change their position afterwards but then it will be only for a few items sparing you from moving all the heavy furniture all by yourself.

First Things First: Some of the things are essential- you need them immediately. If you have done organized packing, the box having these essential things will be there right in your car or one of the first boxes that get unloaded (It was obviously packed and loaded at the end). They include toilet paper, shower curtain, towels, coffee maker, toothbrush, pajamas, medicines, etc. Unpack them first. You'll need them shortly after stepping in your new home.

Unpack One Room at a Time: Here also the rule “first things first” applies. You'll get hungry according to your set body clock, so no compromise there! Set up your kitchen first. And yes, don't try to unpack all the boxes in a day. Just take out the very essential and basic items needed for cooking. The rest can be unpacked as and when you plan about storage and all. Then comes your bathroom. You really will be tired after so much work, and what's better than a shower to get refreshed. Now you can set up your bed (not bedroom- that can wait for the next day). And if you are so tired that you don't even have the stamina left to set up your bed, just get your mattress (or mattresses) and lie down with your family – what a great camping adventure right at home!

From next day onwards, you can make a schedule and set aside some time to get some of the boxes unpack daily or at week ends. In a couple of days or weeks, your new house will truly become your new home and you will not even experience those cramps in your muscles due to over exertion that you could have got if you dared unpacking the whole thing in a day or two.
